Ben Fairhurst is DJ Fhurst. Hailing from the land down under Ben has been mixing since 1999 playing his first few sets at underground uni raves before becoming a finalist in the statewide Bedroom to Bigroom competition.
In the early days the sound of DJ Fhurst was dominated by trancey grooves and hard acid basslines with inspiration being drawn from the trance scene of the late 1990's. That sound kept changing as Ben made his way across Europe before setting up his base in London during 2005.
During 2006 DJ Fhurst took up a residency at World Dance Radio (www.worlddancefm.co.uk) and mixed a weekly show each Saturday night from 6pm to 8pm for five years. The world dance show proved to be a great platform from which Ben could push out his sound and increase his fanbase.
Ben's career really started to take off after teaming up with Lucky Life Events in 2007, quickly establishing himself as a resident known for his dirty basslines and edgy sets with the Lucky Life crowd.
He has since played sets at many of London's premier dance music venues including Brixton Academy, Ministry of Sound, the Whitehouse and Pacha to name a few.
Having also toured Ibiza in both 2008and 2009 playing sets at Eden, Play 2, Kanya and Plastik together with playing in Berlin and a special rooftop party in Madrid alongside world dance boss, Joey Vasquez, DJ Fhurst is one to look out for as he attempts to push himself onto the global scene.
With a sound that pushes across the lines of house, electro and techno, DJ Fhurst likes to keep his punters guessing through sampling, looping and making his mixes fast throughout his sets. Priding himself on being current, DJ Fhurst is always trying to find those underground tunes that rip a dance floor apart before they've been played to death.
One thing is for certain, wherever DJ Fhurst plays or indeed wherever he parties, he is the life of the party and this translates from the dj booth to the dancefloor as he rocks the night away with the rest of the club til' dawn!
